NAC Executive Meeting Minutes

1. Monthly Puja – April 5

  • Ram Navami (April 6) An Indian group is expected to arrive at the Mandir in the late morning.

  • Action Plan: Nepali Puja will start earlier than usual to accommodate both groups. NAC members will join the Indian group after completing the Nepali rituals.

  • New Volunteer Group (Junu’s Team): Enthusiastic group but everyone seems new so there are some concerns..

  • TFT Leadership: Durga has been suggested as a lead; however, more volunteers are needed to ensure success.

2. Cultural Event- Multicultural Event in Crystal Lake – April 5

  • Logistics:

    • NAC will have 2 tables for handicrafts and posters.

    • Shanta will give a presentation.

    • “Fun Facts” display and 5 performances from NAC are scheduled (group dances between 11 AM – 3 PM).

    • Fashion show participation included.

  • Sponsorships: 7 restaurants and 1 business have each contributed $100.

  • Marketing Materials:

    • Coupons have been designed.

    • Event visibility is high – estimated 2000+ attendees, 30 vendors, and food trucks.

  • Timing:

    • NAC setup begins at 9:30 AM; public doors open at 11 AM.

    • Note: This is not a school-sponsored event.

  • Promotion:

    • Share flyer/poster on NAC Facebook page and Viber group.

3. Ping Pong Tournament – April 12

  • Urgent Need for Marketing: Only 1 week remaining – flyers to be printed and distributed during Saturday Puja.

  • Preparations:

    • 12 paddles needed for the event.
    • Individually ask previous participants. Also send/invite flyer to other nepali group including CNFS
    • Provide registrants list to Nitesh and group 
    • Connect someone from Aurora – not only for Ping Pong but they need visibility for other events as well
    • Need to put out calendar in viber and FB for community visibility – also finalize logistics for other events (volleyball/soccer)

4. Senior Meet & Greet Program – Apr 12

  • Program Duration: 1 PM – 6 PM

  • Activities:

    • Formal presentations for businesses if any – at 3:30 PM

    • Jeevan Bigyan Mindfulness Yoga from 3:30 – 4:00 PM

    • Seniors will be indoors; outdoor areas open for others.

    • Kids are welcome with parents and will have games.

  • Refreshments:

    • Tea, Samosa, Jilebi, and Achaar from Glendale Heights, SEWA to buy and sell.

    • Pizza and chips for kids (available for purchase).

  • Coupons:

    • Seniors (60+) to receive $10 coupons.

    • Volunteers to receive $5 coupons.

  • Coordination:

    • Bishnu P. and Ankur S. to coordinate with the Frisbee Center.

    • Shree will help with food and tea distribution.

  • Event Sponsored by SEWA and organized by NAC.
